Mothers Day....

Nikki woke up and did the dishes for me and then made my fav, French Toast. Her and Anya had to leave on the noon train to Portland. I had a nice morning. The kids got me a tanning package (for Vegas) and an IOU for 2 Palm Trees. I have been wanting them for a while now. Jami has a friends dad who grows them, so I will probably pick from those. Chris went and got me a Mocha from Starbs and some beautiful Lily's from the Met. We have no pictures of me and the kids :(, but I got one of Grandma. Patty called and asked if Barker could come play with Bub and Max. So we of course have pictures of them. Hope you all had a Happy Mom's Day.

Nikki and Barker waking up after a nap, after helping Bella give birth.....story to follow.

Bella gives birth....kind of....

OK---in March we had an appointment set up at Twin Lakes Vet to get Bella and Buttons spayed. Well, one day before the appointment one of my darling daycare children (Selah) decided to let Bella outside. She was out maybe 45 minutes and I turned around and she was at the backdoor, filthy dirty and had obviously been with a male cat. About a half hour before she showed up to the door, our Beagle was barking at something in the backyard, it was a black and white cat from the neighbors. (at this point I did not know Bella was out). Suffice to say I couldn't take her to get her fixed now until I knew she WAS NOT pregnant. Well, all the signs were there a few weeks later. So Saturday she had babies. It was HORRIBLE again! (Buttons' birth was bad---Dianne and Nikki had to deliver and bring back to life). Bella is not a birthing type. The first kitten in this litter lived and the second was born dead. They were both breech and had to be pulled out. Bella was not contracting and expelling them. The funny thing is these 2 kittens each weighed almost 4 oz each. Her last litters were no more than 2 oz. They were so developed. The one we have now is a boy and he has been nursing so well, he took right away with no help at all. So our plan is to keep a BIG eye on her and Twin Lakes said that as soon as we can wean the kitten Bella can get spayed. Nikki had a friend Anya here from school and she pulled the first kitten out while Nik held down a screaming, scratching, biting Bella. The new kittens name.....named by college girls...Bacardi :)

Our little dead guy.....he was so cute and perfect.....we were praying for him to come to life. Heartbreaking.....

Matt's Senior Pictures...and Barker

So I went to take Matt's pictures at a little park by their house and thought it would be fun to take Barker (on a leash of course). So we are off in the distance and it looks like Barker is either choking or chewing vigorously on something, so of course I hurry over and as I'm hurrying he is chewing faster and looking at me out of the corner of his eye. He chewed through his leash that I had tied onto a tree. So he was free to roam in the woods, which really is his old stomping ground--he loved it and loved Matt petting him. Thanks Matt for being patient and I love your hair:)
